Sia Breaks News that She Adopted Two Teenage Boys Last Year

We all know how much Sia values her privacy. After all, the singer rarely goes anywhere without having her face covered by some sort of bow or wig. But how she got away with adopting two teenage boys without anyone knowing may be just short of a miracle.

The 44 year old Australian electro-pop singer decided to let the news slide during an interview she gave on the Monday Morning Mash-Up on Sirius XM Radio on May 18. During the interview she announced that she adopted two 18 year old boys last year. The boys were about to age out of the foster care system.

Here are Sia’s exact words about the matter. "I actually adopted two sons last year. They were both 18 — they’re both 19-years-old now. They were aging out of the foster care system. Yeah, and I love them."

Obviously Sia’s move to adopt the boys came none too soon. Often, when children age out of foster care, they are not prepared for what life has in store. Many of them end up homeless or involved in trafficking.

No one in Sia’s camp could be reached for further comment on the matter. The only other news the singer revealed is that they are currently dealing with the pandemic as a family and trying to stay positive. "They are both finding it pretty difficult, one more so than the other," she said. "But they're both doing things that are really good for them right now, that are really helpful. They're really doing a lot of educational stuff that's good for them."

Sia has talked publicly about her reasons behind keeping her face covered and her identity private. "If anyone besides famous people knew what it was like to be a famous person, they would never want to be famous," she has stated to press.

And while that point might be debatable, when Sia does choose to go out showing her face, it’s usually to take a trip to Target. She enjoys being able to run her daily errands without having to deal with paparazzi and throngs of fans wanting autographs.

"You know I was at Target the other day buying a hose and nobody recognized me — and my song was on the radio. And I thought, OK, this experiment is working,” the singer says.

In other news, Sia has also been working on new music. In fact, her new single ‘Together’ drops today, May 20. It will be part of her upcoming film ‘Music’ which is set to come out in September. She directed, co-wrote and co-produced the film with writer Dallas Clayton and producer Vincent Landay. It will star Kate Hudson, Maddie Ziegler and Leslie Odom, Jr.

Sia also performed a new song called ‘Saved My Life’ on the ‘COVID is No Joke’ fundraising event.

Clearly Sia is doing a lot to keep active during the pandemic. We wish her the best of luck with her newly extended family.
