Rick James posthumously sued for sexually assaulting a girl in 1979

Rick James is being sued for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old back in 1979.

In an affidavit, the woman explained that she was attacked by James in the spring of 1979, writes NME. As she says, the ‘Super Freak’ singer visited a youth detention center where she was living at the time. She claims, that after being introduced to the girls from the home, James immediately took interest in her.

“I did not know who Rick James was and shrugged and said I don’t know him,” she wrote. “Almost immediately, Rick James was very suggestive and inappropriate towards me. He made me feel very uncomfortable.”

After that, she claims she has been attacked in her bedroom.

“As I was laying on my belly on my bed,” she wrote, “Rick James came into my bedroom and swiftly laid on top of me."

“He grabbed my hair and pushed my head into the pillow. I tried to fight him off, but he told me, ‘Shut up and quit moving or I’ll cut you.’ He violently ripped off my underwear and proceeded to violent rape me and ejaculate inside of me.” James then allegedly said that if she ever told anyone, he “would know where to find” her.

The woman is seeking damage in the region of $50 million and claims that the alleged incident caused her years of emotional, psychological and physical She also says her struggles with drug use and alcohol abuse, depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, stem directly from the incident.

Rick was previously not just sued, but convicted of assaulting two women. One in 1991, and another in 1992. In 2002 there was also an alleged assault at his home.
