Watch ‘Can’t Cancel Pride’ Tonight on Streaming Services

If there’s one positive thing to be said about the lockdown, it’s that there are tons of interesting broadcasts for people to watch via streaming services. Tonight, June 25, you will want to set a reminder to tune into ‘Can’t Cancel Pride: A COVID 19 Relief Benefit for the LGBTQ+ Community’. The event will be raising funds for those in the LGBTQ+ community that have been most impacted by the coronavirus.

The event will be hosted by Laverne Cox and Elvin Duran. It will feature musical performances by Adam Lambert, Big Freedia, Billy Porter, Katy Perry, Kim Petras, Melissa Etheridge, Sia, Ricky Martin and more.

The show will be airing at 9 PM local time on iHeartRadio’s Facebook and Instagram pages. It will also be on iHeartRadio’s PrideRadio.com and Hulu and it will broadcast on iHeartRadio stations nationwide. It will be presented by iHeartRadio and Proctor and Gamble.

Proctor and Gamble chief brand officer Marc Pritchard released the following statement about the show.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the complex and significant obstacles facing the LGBTQ+ community. We must continue to fight hate and intolerance against all people while redoubling our efforts to elevate LGBTQ+ visibility and providing support for those in need. 'Can’t Cancel Pride' is about showing the community that they are not alone and that they are seen and loved, even when stay-at-home orders have closed community centers and support systems that millions of LGBTQ+ people rely on every day.”

iHeartRadio’s chief marketing officer Gayle Troberman followed up with a similar sentiment. “There’s no question COVID-19 has impacted the LGBTQ+ community in a variety of ways, and at this time in the U.S., the struggle for equality and inclusion has never been more important. Now is a time we need to come together to support the organizations that help bring critical resources to LGBTQ people in need and 'Can’t Cancel Pride' aims to do just that. Like always, Pride will continue to represent the resilience, beauty and strength of the LGBTQ+ community around the nation and the globe.”

During the lockdown, the LGBTQ+ community has been dealing with a lack of access to healthcare, increased domestic violence and social isolation because many of the organizations they turn to for aid are struggling due to the pandemic. ‘Can’t Cancel Pride is partnering with The Greater Cincinnati Foundation to raise funds that will be donated to nonprofits like GLAAD, SAGE, The Trevor Project, the National Black Justice Coalition, CenterLink and OutRight Action International.
